Life is sweeter and fuller at Robinsons Supermarket as it offers lower-priced sugar and rice. White sugar is priced at PHP 50.00/kilo and PHP 45.00/kilo for brown sugar. This is lower than the prevailing sugar prices in Metro Manila which ranges at PHP 60.00/kilo for white sugar and brown sugar at PHP 48/kilo.
Shoppers can also buy rice at only PHP34/kilo to PHP39/kilo. These price offerings are a welcome initiative supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA). They have been encouraging retailers to provide Filipinos more reasonable options.
“We thank the Robinsons Group for quickly offering to support the government’s Presyong Risonable Dapat (PRD) program that can bring cheaper rice and sugar to all their outlets nationwide. This would make our kababayans happier as they will surely have easy access to these better-priced basic products,” said DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez.
This is not the first time that the supermarket decreased the price on basic commodities. Last September, Robinsons Supermarket and URSUMCO also decreased price of sugar. This program is available in 88 Robinsons Supermarket and Robinsons Easymart branches in Metro Manila and Luzon.
