Every October, consumers are swayed with brands showing their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. However, many of these products contain ingredients that are linked to breast cancer—this phenomenon is called pink washing.
Rethink Your Pink enables consumers to choose genuinely safe products by helping them identify ingredients that have been tagged as potentially harmful.
An offshoot of Robinsons Supermarket’s commitment to health and wellness, Rethink Your Pink is an awareness campaign in partnership with genuinely natural personal care brand Human Nature.
“One of our earliest campaigns was called "Read the Label" which sprang from our desire to educate people about their unwitting exposure to harmful chemicals present in seemingly ordinary, everyday products,” Human Nature Co-founder & President Anna Meloto-Wilk said.
Like their earlier campaign, Rethink Your Pink helps shoppers decipher labels, helping them identify ingredients that have been tagged as potential endocrine disruptors and carcinogens.
Wilk added that like Robinsons Supermarket, Human Nature is passionate about helping the public make more informed decisions regarding the products they support.
Rethink Your Pink guides consumers on what to avoid in their personal and home care products. Most synthetic personal care and cosmetic products use chemicals like parabens, triclosan/triclocarban, synthetic fragrances, SLS/SLES, and petroleum/mineral oil which have been linked to serious health risks.*
