Shaping the nation’s future one pencil at a time

During back-to-school season, mommies and daddies are busy shopping for their kiddos to make sure they’re ready to tackle the school year head-on. Robinsons Supermarket lends a helping hand to the hardworking parents of our youth through its annual Fit Kid’s Cupcake Craze promo. All Robinsons Supermarket branches nationwide became vessels of change because every piece purchased by grocery-goers, a portion of the proceeds goes to helping their partner institutions. Each participating item a customer buys, a percentage of the sale helps provide kids nationwide with one of their daily school necessities, the all-important pencil. All 139 stores join forces to raise funds for their local elementary schools and support these kids get a proper education.

 Equipped with the right tools, any student can achieve anything their heart desires. This is why Robinsons Supermarkets donated this year a total of a whopping 278,000 pencils to schools nationwide through the Cupcake Craze program. The 2-month long promo runs annually from May-June just in time for school supplies shopping. Proceeds from participating bread items contributed to supplying these kids with pencils that may seem simple, but is actually the most important tool for learning. As the saying goes, “A little goes a long way”.

 To signal the start of the official distribution of the items for Fit Kid’s Cupcake Craze 2019, Robinsons Supermarket held an official turnover event at Dela Paz Elementary school in Antipolo city. The local Robinsons Supermarket store were able to donate 10,000 pencils that were allocated to the students of the little elementary school in the east of Manila. As the event came to a close, it was capped off by students saying a little thank you while grasping their pencils, ready to take on the new school year.

For years, Robinsons Supermarket has been launching back-to-school programs that not only help the youth, but to empower them.
