Stronger Together - Robinsons Supermarket and DOST-FNRI celebrate 10 years of their wellness advocacy
Now on its 10th year and united by their strong commitment to educate and empower consumers to make healthier choices in the supermarket, Robinsons Supermarket and DOST-FNRI held a simple contract signing ceremonyat Robinsons Supermarket Magnolia.
As the first major retailer to promote health & wellness, Robinsons Supermarket commits to bring together healthy selections and affordable prices in a refreshingly clean and organized shopping destination. Taking this commitment to heart, Robinsons Supermarket guides its customers to food and grocery choices by using the 4-color tag system, with the green shelf tagged products having been evaluated by the DOST-FNRI based on the product nutrition label. Healthy products are displayed in the supermarket’s health and wellness section, which is available in all Robinsons Supermarket stores. The tie-up has also brought about the creation of ready-to-eat healthy meals and an annual collection of healthy recipes for customers to try.
Recently, Robinsons Supermarket welcomed the new year promoting a fresher start by launching a promo entitled, “Eat the Rainbow,” which encourages consumers to add a variety of colors in their food diet. The promo ran for the whole month of January this year and aimed to feature fruit and vegetables bundled and priced at Php99.00 only. Customers will also get a free ecobag should they purchase three (3) bundled packs every Sunday. Ecobag design features DOST-FNRI’s PinggangPinoy, a campaign promoting proper foodportioning to aid in one’s health & wellbeing. “We are very happy to be working with Robinsons Supermarket with this promo. This will not only help promote healthy eating, but also make people realize that wellness is affordable and within their reach.”- said Dr. Mario V.Capanzana, Director of DOST-FNRI.

FREE APPLE FOR HEALTHIER KIDS
At the launch of the promo, customers’ kids got a chance to get a free apple while their mommies shopped at the supermarket. The group aims to roll this out in more stores come Nutrition Month in July this year.
